About Donna

I believe strongly that why you do things is as important as what you do.

I am deeply committed to my community.

My husband David and I have owned a local business, The Vacuum Store, for over 30 years.

I have twice been nominated for the Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year and I have been honoured with both a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and a King's Coronation Medal for my community involvement as:

Entertainment Co-ordinator, Downtown Milton Street Festival

Entertainment Co-ordinator, Milton Ribfest

Co-Chair of the Committee which formed Milton Community Resource Centre and then Milton Community Resource Centre's inaugural Chair of the Board for two years

I am also the Executive Director of Milton Transitional Housing – an organization dedicated to helping people experiencing a housing crisis get out of shelters and into stable housing.

I am committed to this community – it is where I live, where I work and where I volunteer my time.

I have been a publicly elected school board trustee since 2006.

I have extensive experience and understanding of:

- balancing a budget which focuses on retaining services

- supporting long term planning instead of short term fixes

- understanding the needs of different neighbourhoods and communities

- demonstrating leadership outside of politics

- doing my homework, asking thoughtful questions and building consensus while keeping resident interests at the forefront
